The Freemason at Work The Definitive Guide to Craft Freemasonry by the late Brother Harry Carr. 7th edition. The sub-title of this book is a little presumptious for although it does mention Scottish Masonic practice it is simply considered to be part of the 'whole scheme of things' scarcely dealing with the differences and depth of distinctively Scottish practices. That is not a criticisim merely an indication that this informative and well written book is weighted towards the English Masonic experience. The dust jacket givs it away displaying, as it does, English Masonic regalia whilst there is no corresponding images of Scottish regalia elsewhere in the book. Despite all this the book is well produced in a nice clean typeface. Most importantly it contains a hige amount of information about Freemasonry that is (almost) essential reading for anyone who sincerely wishes to understand our gentle Craft. This book should be on Freemaon's bookself even if for only occasional 'dipping into' !
